Policies

Players are expected to adhere to a series of rules and guidelines, as outlined below. Violation of these rules will be investigated by staff, and sanctions will be dealt if necessary. All players are expected to have read and agreed to abide by the below, ignorance of these rules is no excuse.

General Rules

Most rules boil down to general Netiquette (Or 'online etiquette'). But some people just can't seem to grasp the concept. Listed below are some of these rules as well as a few more specific to MUSH'ing. A nice guideline is Claire Benedikt's "Don't be a TinyJerk" This can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/6ndkj

• Intentionally trying to damage the MUSH database, server, or site; or attempting to subvert any MUSHcode system.
• Do not alter or abuse a MUSH coded system. If you encounter a bug in any softcoded system please report it to staff. Detailed info of exactly what you did or were trying to do is appreciated when reporting.
• Do not spoof other players.
• Do not spy on a private conversation or RP scene.
• Do not give another person your character's password.
• Lying to staff about matters concerning the MUSH database and events is grounds for sanction.
• OOC harassment of any kind is completely unacceptable, and grounds for an immediate ban. Harassment includes but is not limited to:

1. Any insult directed toward a demographic group IE: ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.
2. Threats made towards players or staff, including threats of legal action or threats of real-life violence will not be responded to nor tolerated.
3. Repeated pages or @mails to a player after being asked to desist.

• Character names should be 'in theme' and should not contain any vulgarities, provocative terms, or special characters. Nor should names be obvious duplicates of characters from works of fiction or real life individuals.
• Eden is an 'RP Accepted' environment. We find that people enjoy both roleplaying as well as socializing and either is acceptable. As such we have no solid rules about OOC conversation nor a room set aside solely for this purpose.

Technical Rules

These rules are intended to address some of the more technical issues on the MUSH. Including things like building, object creation, alt numbers, and the like.

• In the interest of keeping database bloat to a minimum and to keep names available characters will be deleted after 60 days of inactivity. Characters set ON-VACATION will be up for deletion after 90 days. Characters who do not have a description or other attributes on set on themselves and do not own any items may be deleted after 5 days of inactivity.
• No player should have more than 3 alternate characters.

Sanctions

Possible punishments include but are not limited to:

• A written warning.
• A temporary @boot from the MUSH.
• The temporary +jailing of your character(s).
• An @sitelock from the MUSH.
